The Missionary Journey which started on Thursday 14th March 2019, from TETMI headquarters in Owerri, with a stop over at the Akaeze Mission station where we were joined by three field missionaries and two volunteers.

Arriving at Obudu, Cross Rivers State at about 5pm, we were welcomed by the sectional head, Missionary Oliver Igbee and his team with our liaison officer / Youth outreach coordinator Obudu field Missionary David Ogebe and family. It was more of a welcome meetings and arrangements, then dinner for the night and rest.
During the daytime, the training of the missionaries and church workers from the field of Obudu was carried out. It was a training on follow up and teachings on basic Christian growth using the material YOUR NEW LIFE IN CHRIST BY PEACE HOUSE MINISTRIES. This was done by the Mobilisation Director Bro. Uche Umune while the President of TETMI took over after that on the basic issues on DISCIPLESHIP AND CHURCH DEVELOPMENT . It was a great time of interaction between the missionaries and the Trainers. Prayer sessions were carried out in preparation for the evening outreach.
By evening the Team moved down to Bebuabie village where they had two nights of open air outreach. A little research made showed to us that the village had experienced a lot of unfaithfulness by those who brought the gospel to them earlier. Behold they were merchants in the disguise of gospel preachers. These men succeeded in bring disasters amongst family members with their false prophesies where they incite members of same families against each other with the message that one member wants to kill the other and that resulted to their various sickness and set backs being experienced. This has happened for a long time that had made the villagers to become resistant to any other group that is bringing the gospel to them. But confessed that our missionary in their midst has shown a lot of difference. This gave us an open door for us to proceed for the outreach. There were times for house to house evangelism where some inhabitants gave their lives to Christ and joined us at the crusade grounds. The crusades witnessed times for praises, prayers , film show and message by the president of TETMI, Rev Dr. David Umune. About 39 person gave their lives to Christ and 16 persons joined the believers in fellowship after. Missionaries from Benue axis joined in the training by the third day. Great was the gathering.
UDIGIE OUTREACH
Two of our team members strolled out in one of the evenings and getting to a nearby village Udigie by name, started witnessing to some people them and there was a sudden gathering of people who came and listened to them. At the end of their message, the community demanded they should come and plant their church in their midst. This people latter sent some representative to come to meet the team leaders. This led to our having two nights of crusade in that village. During the crusade, God healed some sick people and that brought more people out to hear the gospel and received Christ. By the time the crusade ended a fellowship group was establish and a missionary assigned to them.
SPORTS MINISTRY
The land of Obudu and its environs are made up of 85% young people who are engaged mostly in palm wine tapping and Okada riding and which have left them struggling with social vices. TETMI is reaching out to them through sports MINISTRY being spear headed by Missionary David Ogebe and wife. Football and Volley ball have brought together over 120 youths in a weekly sports practice. The couple has used this opportunity to present the gospel, led many to Christ and are gradually discipling them. During the TETMI Outreach to Obudu. TETMI President and Mobilisation Director with the P.A on Media, alongside a medical doctor (volunteer) visited the soccer team during one of their training sessions to encourage them and challenge them on their faith in Christ together with their love for Sports. During the visit, the team even notice the presence of some muslims in the club who does not hesitate when the gospel is preached.
This has become a strategic way to reachout to the teeming Youths with the Gospel and disciple them. This ministry is in need of some facilities like, footballs, boots, jerseys, Bibles, volley ball nets, rackets and track suits.
TETMI is trying to impact in the lives of some of the youth through empowerment programmes. She is working at empowering some youths to learn electrical engineering, Barbing of hair, and trading of clothings and hair braiding. This will need the support and prayers of believers who share in her vision of reaching out with the gospel .
BENUE OUTREACH.
The trip to Kwande L.G.A of Benue State on the Friday 22nd March 2019 took a different turn as all the members of the Team had to squeeze themselves into one vehicle as the earlier information gotten showed that the two vehicles cannot go through the bad roads that leads to the field successfully. So only the Hilux vehicle was used with all the loads and some members staying at the open back. The road as It was said was not rosy at all. The bridges that we crossed were made of local materials which was not too strong but faith saw the team through. In most of the bridges, everyone will have to come down out of the vehicle for the driver to move alone. The people of Kwande live in mountainous areas, which is rocky and within the valley. They are majorly farmers and traders of their farm products but their bad roads were majorly the constraint they have. Communication using the telecommunication systems is so poor that in most cases, it is as good as none existing. They have very poor medical facility but have good vegetation and enough fruits and food.
The Team on arrival was received by the supervisor of the Benue Field, Pastor Chinaemerem Dike at his base in Agenogo village, kwande L.G.A of Benue State. The Team on arrival was quickly taking to the newly established Nursery/Primary School known as EVANGELISERS CHILD DEVELOPMENT ACADEMY. The team were met by members of the village where the school is located and the parents of the pupil who are already in the school. The Team were thrilled with welcome songs and speeches and traditional display by the pupil. The school which was build with local material attracted the attention of the President and his team and during his speech promised to support the school to achieve her goal in the community. The school for now has about 56 pupil of nursery 1 to 3 with three staff including the missionary and his wife.
The team also visited the locally constructed church building which reflected nature and custom. It was a very cool environment despite the heat of the sun, a good place for worship and fellowship.
Latter in the day, the Team moved towards the village for the outreach and crusades known as TSE-GUSE. It is distance of about 3 hrs due to bad road. When we reached Agbatse, some had to drop from the vehicle and entered Okada after getting the information of how bad the terrain to the village is. The final batch managed to come alongside with the Hilux van under great difficulty which they regretted ever trying. The road was too bad but the village and the environment is so serene and wonderful. One could see the beauty of God’s creation. The team was received by the family of the oldest man in the village (about 80 yrs old) who gave them the accommodation to lodge in, althrough their stay in the land.
The Team after resting went down to the venue of the crusade for the night. Already set and with the villagers gathered, a sign of rain was combated with prayers which latter stopped. The crusade went on with songs of praise, prayers, film show and them message preached by the President of TETMI, Rev Dr. David Umune. At the end of the day over 30 people gave their lives to Christ and many received healings after prayers. A couple who has been down with prolonged illness after prayers by one of the missionaries, got healed and testified of God’s mighty hands. They were all asked to come the next day by morning for a follow up meeting at a nearby old school structure.
It was amazing the next day how these people trooped to the place of meeting with joy in their heart. They were led to know the things that have happened in their lives now that they are saved and what is being expected of them. so glad they were as the oldest man came out and asked the missionary “You mean all my sins have been forgiven by God?”. The missionary answered him, “ Yes as long as you have confessed your sins to Christ and asked him to forgive and save you”. What a joy that thrilled in his face as he latter made commitment to provide accommodation for the resident missionary who will stay with them to teach them God’s Word. This opportunity was used to share some of the gifts the Team came with which includes some cloths, bibles and shoes. It was a great time of joy for the converts and the villagers together who latter heard about the impact made. More Bibles are needed for the converts.
Baptism was conducted for some of the leaders who came from other villagers where TETMI work is going on and are due for baptism. The whole congregation moved down to the village stream where about 6 men were baptized by the President of TETMI after making public declaration of their faith in Christ. These affected the last crusade in that village that night as almost all the inhabitants of the village came out for the crusade and over60 persons gave their lives to Christ. The team took another time to pray of the village and her inhabitants, different groups in the village and there was great turn out for Christ and for Healings.
There was a public recognition of the family who invited the ministry to the land. One whose wife was paralysed for eight years and have gone to several places even herbalist for healing but no cure. At the invitation of one of TETMI missionaries, Pastor Chibuzo Onuoha, he came and had an all-night prayers with the family which at the end of it, the woman rose up and walked instantly. The woman and her husband came forth and testified to this mighty hand of God upon them.
The next day which was Sunday, witnessed a large turn out of the villagers to the place of worship . It was a great time for fellowship where the resident missionary for the village was introduced and prayed for together with the new members who are to begin the church in the village. At the end of the service, there was a Holy Communion for the baptized believers and newly baptize ones to commemorate the Lord’s death until He comes.
Departure back to the cross river base began immediately so as to cross the bad bridges on time before night. It was an awesome time getting involved in this outreach, seeing what God is doing in making people to desire to worship from different parts of the world no matter where they are located.
A big appreciation goes to all our partners who one way or the other supported this outreach. You will not lose your reward . Keep praying for the converts that they may be established in their faith and grow unto maturity.
